Versatility For The Win!

The past few years have witnessed a proliferation of gigantic skeletons popping up on lawns around Halloween.

While there's a certain novelty with these holiday decorations, there's a countervailing argument that the rest of the year's worth of storage in the garage (to say nothing of the time required to set up and take down the items) might make these a less-than-ideal choice.

Storage of large plastic decorative items represents a type of recurring cost - 11 months of occupying a large volume in the home for one month of delight in having the decoration on display.

This is why I was impressed when some neighbors I pass during my morning bike ride managed to reduce the storage time and extend the display time of their skeletons by making a one-season display into a more versatile three-season display.

Kudos to these out-of-the-box thinkers who put out their skeletons in October and leave them out until January!
